Privacy is the biggest issue marketers don’t want to face – but must. On January 1, 2020 the California Consumer Privacy Act will take effect, which will impact privacy and data rules for almost everyone attending LSA19.  Beyond this, there are other state laws that may go further (e.g., Washington Privacy Act).

It’s also unlikely that any comprehensive federal legislation, pre-empting these various state laws, will pass in the next 12 months or even before the 2020 election.

When GDPR took effect, most European companies were unprepared. Will that be the case in the US? It’s very likely. But what will be the consequences of a “wait and see” approach?

LSA19 features multiple discussions on privacy. We have an in-depth privacy workshop on February 25 offering lessons from GDPR and concrete operational advice for US companies on how to prepare for 2020. Then, on February 27 we have privacy panel with leading location intelligence providers. Find out why they think regulation will benefit the industry and what to do about it.

While the entire LSA19 agenda is full of strategic and tactical value, these privacy sessions are must attend discussions that may be turn out to be the most consequential for your company.
